UltraVNC Server UltraVNC Server Modifications

Hi,

One problem I had, was that you could not connect to the Ultravnc server because it had no default password.

So I modified the reg file to have a password of "ubcd4win" modified .cmd file to display this password

I am not sure which forum to post in. Or if (or where) I should submit a totally redone ultravnc.zip file.

Since I am shooting the moon here. Here is the code to add to the plugins/network/penetcfg/penetcfg.ini to get it to autostart the vnc server.

And since it may be helpful for someone. It is nice to have a rescue CD that puts a machine on the network at a pre determined address with the VNC server running. I.E. you pop the CD in, you select boot UBCD4Win and walk away and remote in from another system. Since most home networks are 192.168.0.xxx networks, here is the penetcfg.ini file that will put the machine on the network at 192.168.0.200 with DNS provided by the OpenDNS project.

thx, Ill try it.. I had the same problem, uVNC started but setting screen was show of.. :( I hope it wil set the password and star in hidden mode..

Did somebody manage to get Ultravnc service startup right? I want the machine to startup, use dhcp automaticly and then start uvnc.

DHCP and starting something afterwards works fine. I added the .reg file and i tried adding the reg keys at build time - both "works". The Service is there and started, but you can't connect to it.

I call winvnc.exe after penetcfg and wrote a small autoit script to enter the password as soon as the dialog appears - but thats not as fine as using the real service. I don't understand why it won't work... Service there and runing, restart doesn't work. And calling winvnc.exe don't uses the regkeys so it has a "blank" password if you dont enter one...
